The Wallace Collection

 

This course comprises a series of seven two hour workshops culminating in a visit to the Wallace Collection. You will be introduced in each session to  key paintings from different eras displayed in the Wallace Collection. In groups, you will study and discuss the paintings in detail. Facilitated by your tutor, you will become your own expert on these paintings. Your knowledge and understanding will then be tested by a fun quiz trail at the Wallace Collection in the final week.

 

Day: Friday

 

Dates: 22 and 29 September, 6, and 20 October, 3, 10 and 24 November and 1 December 2017 (at the Wallace Collection)

 

Time: 2-4pm ( 11am - 3.30pm at the Wallace Collection)

 

Length: Over 10 weeks (seven two hour sessions in Great Missenden; one four hour session at the Wallace Collection with a break for lunch)

 

Venue: The Oldham Hall,  Great Missenden and the Wallace Collection, London

  • A Dance to the Music of Time - Poussin 1634

  • Execution of the Doge, Marino Faliero - Delacroix  1825-6

  • Henry III - Bonnington 1828

  • Visit to the Wallace Collection
